James Brindley Schools Sculptures

I was asked by James Brindley to do a series of sculptures for some of their sites across Birmingham.

I worked with Emma Richter Harvey who is the head of personal development and art teacher at the parkway site. The sculptures were based on well-being and some of the children would get involved in the process of weaving which they found very therapeutic.

What an amazing day! Kate is such a patient and informative tutor and so talented. The bundle of willow soon transformed into recognisable animals from the group. I managed to make a fawn with mine! I would definitely recommend the course.

An amazing day. Under the instruction of the incredibly talented and creative Kate, I took willow sticks and throughout the course of the day learned how to craft and weave them into a lamb. Thank you Kate for such an enjoyable day.

I've never worked with willow before so wasn't sure what to expect. Had a brilliant, relaxing day which flew by. With Kate's help and guidance I took home a beautiful willow hare, which my friends are very impressed by. Kate was very patient and supportive. I would recommend the course to anyone wanting to try their hand at willow sculpting.

Thoroughly enjoyable course. Everyone in our group made something that was worth taking home even though we were all complete beginners! Would recommend it.
